Ethan – our business systems manager

I started in 2004 when there were just a handful of people, my first role was customer support. The company’s grown dramatically and I’ve taken on far greater responsibilities – I now head up Business Systems, my charter is to ensure our internal systems (ie CRM, Billing) are world class.

Why did you decide to join messagemedia?

I liked the idea of a small, flexible company, of working closely with all departments, you can have an impact on all parts of the business. Being involved in implementing new processes, watching the company grow and growing with it, support and personal development - messagemedia is a company that returns the effort you put into it.

What interesting projects have you worked on at messagemedia?

Web SMS - I was involved in the design and development of a new product from the ground up. Our gateway redundancy system was a real challenge too - we were charged with designing and implementing a system for our mission critical systems. Just general business too - I work on a wide variety of internal projects for all parts of the business.

What do you like most about working here?

It's a great team - friendly, easy to work with and a relaxed atmosphere. Also, good results get rewarded.

What do you like least about working here?

Juggling the competing interests of different departments - everyone thinks their work is the most important!

If you could say one thing to someone considering a career at messagemedia, what would it be?

Working at messagemedia can be demanding, but it's a great opportunity if you're up for a challenge.
